The evening sky is setting over the serene landscape as Guru Raman sat with his student, Raju, by the riverbank. The water flowing peaceful with a shimmering sound evoking ones soul. Guru ram is feeding the fish bit by bit the bread crumbs. Raju watched this scene with the large sparkly eyes. The whole picture was having something magical about it. Calmness and peace surrounded the area.
Guru glanced at somehow spaced out Raju.
“Raju, have you ever noticed how trees stand tall and strong, despite the storms that rage around them?” the Guru asked, gazing at a nearby tree.
Raju nodded thoughtfully. “Yes, Guru. They are tall and strong, like they seem to have a deep connection to the earth.”
The Guru smiled and nodded. “Exactly! Trees are grounded, connected to the earth’s energy. Here is something we can learn from them. Listen I am going to teach you a powerful meditation technique to calm the mind and balance the body’s energy.”
Raju’s curiosity was piqued. “How do I do it, Guru?”
The Guru smiled closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and began to guide Raju. “Like tree roots, imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet, deep into the earth. Imagine the earth loving energy as a green waves of smoke, now feel the earth’s energy flowing up through your feet to the limbs to the stomach all the way up filling all your body with the love energy of mother earth.”
As Raju visualized the roots, he felt a sense of calm wash over him. The Guru continued, “Now you are surrounded by the powerful healing energy. Slowly, inhale calmness though nose, hold it in your belly where the energy core is. Hold it in a comfortable stance and slowly exhaling tension through mouth. This way you are letting go of the all the past worries, fears or anxiety tied up with you. Now feel the earth’s energy grounding you, stabilizing your mind and body.”
Raju’s eyes fluttered open, and he smiled, feeling more centred. “I feel more calm, Guru. Thank you.”
The Guru smiled back. “Grounding meditation is a simple yet powerful technique. Practice it regularly, and you’ll find peace and balance in your life.”
As they sat in silence, watching the stars twinkle to life, Raju knew he had learned a valuable lesson. He felt more connected to the earth and more at peace with himself.
